I would say "spoiler alert," but if you haven't heard by now that last Sunday's mega-hyped season debut of "The Sopranos" ended with Tony Soprano getting plugged in his girthsome gut -- well, enjoy life there in your Cone of Silence. For the rest of us, tonight's "Sopranos" episode has us wondering what will happen to the big galoot. For an alternate version of Tony meeting a violent fate, check out a Portland blogger's ultra low-rent vision. Go to "Welcome to Blog" (the address is actually http://laurabush.info/ though it's not affiliated with the first lady -- duh). Scroll down, past the hilarious spoof of a certain glossy mag, to the March 10 entry: "The Death of Tony Soprano." OK, "The Godfather" it isn't, as Mr. Welcome to Blog himself admits. But give 'im a break -- it's local!
In case anyone saw the clip in today's Oregonian and comes looking for the video, here's a direct link. Just hit the play button in the window below. Prepare to be...completely underwhelmed. This short was put together in 20 minutes flat and had a budget of exactly 0 dollars. Scorsese it ain't.
